What’s up Texas FBLA!

My name is Gordon Taft, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve as your 2026-2027 Area 8 State Vice President! I am a senior at Cypress Ridge High School in Houston, and I have been a member of FBLA since my freshman year. I am also involved in Student Council and Baseball. Outside of school, I love to fish, play guitar, and spend time outdoors with my friends!

FBLA allowed me to undergo a massive transformation that bolstered both my public speaking ability and personal communication skills. This organization has provided me with countless opportunities, including internships, leadership positions, and, most importantly, lifelong friendships. I am thankful to both my chapter and adviser, Mrs. Means, for making this possible!

This year, I plan to make an impact on how FBLA contributes to its members' daily lives while reshaping communication within Area 8 and across Texas FBLA as a whole.
